Love Death & Robots - Close Encounters of the Mini-Kind
Love, Death & Robots — “Close Encounters of the Mini-Kind”
Netflix | 3D Lead / Compositing Lead
Close Encounters of the Mini-Kind is a short animated episode from Netflix’s Love, Death & Robots anthology series, telling the darkly comedic story of a bungled first contact with aliens that escalates into global conflict and ultimately leads to humanity’s self-destruction.

I served as 3D Lead on the project, working closely with creative directors to oversee and actively participate in the production of the episode’s shots. My role spanned look development, shot execution, and cross-department coordination, helping shape the visual language and tone of each sequence.

The production pipeline included Maya for 3D animation and layout, Nuke for compositing, and generative AI workflows using Stable Diffusion to create and extend matte paintings. In addition to my responsibilities as 3D Lead, I also oversaw shot development as Compositing Lead, collaborating with artists across disciplines to refine lighting, integration, and final image polish while maintaining consistency across the episode.
