Airbnb — “The Middle of Nowhere”
3D Lead | Lighting & Final Compositing
For Airbnb’s “The Middle of Nowhere” campaign, I served as 3D Lead on a single-shot, 30-second commercial, overseeing the project from look development through final delivery. The spot captures the feeling of a remote Nordic getaway — a serene lake surrounded by rugged terrain, wildlife, and a sense of quiet isolation.
The environment was developed using a combination of generative AI and traditional 3D workflows in Maya and V-Ray. I oversaw asset development and worked closely with creative leadership to interpret and refine the visual direction, ensuring the final look aligned with the intended mood and narrative.
In addition to leading the 3D team, I was responsible for lighting the shot and completing the final composite in Nuke. This included establishing the lighting mood, integrating atmospherics, and balancing realism with a cinematic tone. I coordinated closely with asset, lighting, and compositing artists to maintain visual consistency and efficiently deliver a cohesive, polished final image.
